How often is a portable toilet serviced?

Why frequency is not a date

A toilet does not get dirty with time, it gets dirty with use. Scheduling service by calendar rather than by load is the mistake behind the most common complaint on site: the unit clean on Monday and saturated by Thursday, with the contract met to the letter.

The correct calculation starts at the tank. A 227- to 246-litre holding tank, like the Basic unit’s, has a finite number of uses before service is required. Dividing that number by estimated daily uses gives the frequency, and that figure is corrected with the first weeks’ history.

Reference by scenario

ScenarioStandard frequencyWhat changes it
Construction siteOne weekly visit per unitCrew above the sizing, double shifts
Industrial plantScheduled by logPlant shutdowns and maintenance windows
CampScheduled, with wastewater removalOvernight stays and showers in operation
One-day eventOn-site operation during the eventPeak-hour attendance and drink service
Multi-day eventContinuous operation by shiftsVenue closing and reopening times

What each visit leaves behind

  • Waste removal and chemical recharge of the unit.
  • Consumable replacement and full unit check.
  • Service log entry, the document reviewed by the client or the audit.
  • Report of any damage or unexpected usage, to adjust the next frequency.

Frequently asked questions

Can I request more than one visit a week?

Yes. Frequency is a quote parameter, not a fixed condition. When usage exceeds the estimate, raising frequency solves the problem without changing the number of installed units.

What if the project grows mid-rental?

The number of units is expanded and frequency is reviewed. That is the normal scenario for a staged project, and why modules are relocatable: the installation follows progress instead of being rebuilt.

Short answer

Saniprof’s standard service for construction is one weekly visit per unit. At mass events, operation is on site and continuous throughout, with staff by shift. Real frequency is set by uses between visits, not by calendar: the same unit may need two weekly services or one every fortnight.
